The table is divided into two sections, called the inside and outside
bets. On the inside of the layout you can wager between one and six
numbers. Payouts vary depending on what spots or combinations you bet
on. The outside bets include red or black, even or odd numbers, low
numbers 1 to 18 and high numbers 19 to 36, column bets (which represent
the 12 numbers in each of the three columns), and finally , the dozen
bet (which consists of the first, second, and third 12-number sections).
Each wager will pay out differently, depending on which bet you select.
Inside Bets
All bets on any of the numbers are known as inside bets. You
are allowed to make inside bets on as many combinations of numbers as
you want. It's important to note that most casinos will also have a
minimum "inside" wager requirement. Even though the table minimum
might be $1, there usually is a minimum "spread" requirement of $5 on
all inside bets. This means that you need to bet a total of $5 when
betting on inside numbers. You can do this as a single $5 number bet, or
as five $1 number bets. Minimum spreads vary from casino to
casino. Some casinos don't have a minimum.

Outside Bets
Outside bets are those that are placed on spots other than the numbers
0,00, and 1 through 36. ON the table layout you will find the outside
bets in the sections closest to the players. They are the even-money,
column, and dozen bets.
